Here we feature two classic R&B artists from the golden era of soul music, the 1960s. Rock n Roll Hall of Famer, musician, songwriter and producer, Jerry Butler, best known for his long association with the legendary Curtis Mayfield as lead singer of The Impressions and perhaps for co-writing the Otis classic "I've Been Loving You Too Long". Featured alongside Jerry Butler we present two albums by North Carolina born, Chuck Jackson, perhaps not as successful or well regarded as Jerry Butler but an equally fine singer having begun his career in the Del Vikings between 1957-59. He has been noted as one of the first artists to interpret the work of legendary songwriters Bacharach & David, his signature song being their classic "Any Day Now" which would become his biggest hit.
