A new album from MacJazz is always something of a treat for jazz fans, and here is another beauty from a couple of old jazz men who have travelled far and wide in their jazz careers but are found here returning to the roots of their jazz repertoire.
Veteran jazz men Acker Bilk and Cuff Billett have fashioned a fine album of good old songs, familiar chords and time honoured melodies with sensible tempos and comfortable routines!
The results are pleasingly relaxed as you would expect from these two veterans who first came together way back when Cuff first joined Acker's Paramount Jazz Band in 1952!
Classic songs covered include Beale Street Blues, Pennies From Heaven, What A Friend We Have In Jesus, September In The Rain, Exactly Like You and Acker's showcase, the Charlie Chaplin classic Smile.
"I enjoyed the freedom of it"......said Cuff......old friends re-united indeed!
