A world Ballroom Dancing champion himself in 1928, Victor Silvester decided to form his own orchestra in 1935 to supply strict tempo dance records to satisfy the ever increasing demand of the latest dance phenomena, Ballroom or Strict Tempo Dancing.
Alongside another stalwart of the British music scene in the 1930’s and 40’s and musical mainstay of the legendary TV series Come Dancing, Joe Loss, these two make up the majority of the tracks on this wonderful and atmospheric double CD. (you can almost see the sequins, smell the make up and hear the sound of leather on the dancefloor)!
Equally great to dance to or to listen to, step up or settle down to enjoy 54 foot tapping Ballroom dance classics.
